Do I have to be in Texas?
No. We are in Austin and we work with filmmakers anywhere. If you are shooting in Texas, being here is the point. If you are not, the development work travels fine.
Is the consultation really free?
Yes. Twenty minutes, no charge, no pitch. We would rather have the relationship than the sale.
Will you read my script?
Yes. That is what The Read is. You get a logline, a synopsis, what is actually in the script, and the production problems we would flag before anyone spends money. What we will not do is tell you whether it is good.
What are the Texas incentives?
Texas pays a cash rebate on qualifying in-state spend, after you finish and pass verification. We build the budget and keep the records so verification is a printout instead of a search. Whether your specific project qualifies is a question for the Texas Film Commission at 512-463-9200. They are the only source to trust on that.
